The 10-Minute Reset: How to Get Back on Track When You Feel Off
Some days, nothing is technically wrong…but everything feels off.
You’re not sad. You’re not overwhelmed. But you’re also not fully there. You feel disconnected from yourself, your routine, your goals – like you’re just going through the motions. And in those moments, we tend to think we need to do something big to fix it. Start over tomorrow. Create a new plan. Wait until we feel motivated again. But the truth is – you don’t need a life reset. You need a moment. A moment to come back to yourself.
Why we feel “off” in the first place
It usually isn’t one big thing. It’s the small buildup:
-
Too much noise, not enough stillness
-
Avoiding what we know we need to face
-
Pouring into everything and everyone except ourselves
-
Losing touch with our own thoughts
When you don’t check in with yourself, you slowly drift away from yourself.
And that “off” feeling? That’s your mind asking you to come back.
The 10-minute reset
This isn’t about perfection. This is about realignment.
Step 1: 2 minutes – let it out
Grab your journal and write everything that’s on your mind. No structure. No filtering. No trying to make it sound good. Just get it out of your head and onto paper.
Step 2: 2 minutes – get honest
Ask yourself: What actually matters today? Not everything. Not the overwhelming list. Just the one or two things that would make today feel intentional.
Step 3: 3 minutes – shift your energy
Stand up. Move your body. Step outside. Stretch. You don’t need a full workout – you just need to interrupt the state you’re in.
Step 4: 3 minutes – set your intention
Write down:
-
Who you want to be for the rest of they day
-
How you want to feel
-
One small step you’re going to take
Keep it simple. Keep it real.
This is your power
You don’t need to wait until tomorrow. You don’t need to feel “ready.” You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to pause long enough to hear yourself again. Because the more you check in, the less you lose yourself. And the faster you come back when you do.
If you’ve been feeling off lately, let this be your reset. Just 10 minutes. Just one moment. Just one step back to yourself.
